JV Soccer Looks to the Future

Written by Connor Roth '11 on October 7, 2009.

With about two-thirds of the season over, the JV soccer team has improved their record to 3-2-3, with a recent win over Lake Catholic. The Eagles also tied Toledo St. John’s and Lakewood in hard fought games. With increasingly difficult practices, the Eagles are looking forward to finishing their last six games strong.

The JV defense is led by sweeper Kevin Murray and stopper George Joseph, who consistently help keep the ball out of the net. Stuart Ford also plays a dual role on the JV side, rotating between forward and goalkeeper. Offensively, Andrew Bradley has played very well over the past few games and has led the central midfield by hitting winning headers and making solid passes to the wing players.

Although the Eagles have a well-rounded defense, the team has had some trouble scoring. After playing eight games, the JV Eagles have only scored six goals due to its struggles to finish scoring opportunities. The team’s remaining games include matches with Dublin Coffman and Toledo St. Francis.
