Update on KRA Implementation

Written by Cody Yanniello '11 on October 7, 2009.

The latest major advancement to giving St. Edward students better experiences and an improved learning atmosphere is called the K.R.A. Initiative. The K.R.A. is a 5-year strategic plan that began in the spring of 2008 and is set to be completed in 2013. A private consultant, Max Stark, was brought in to study the school and lay out priorities for the school to meet within certain time frames. Mr. Stark met with student leaders, faculty, administration, and even parents to fully understand St. Edward and its need to advance as a school. The K.R.A. is now in Phase 3 of its priorities, and offers some improvements that can be seen throughout the school. At the beginning of this school year noticeable improvements could be seen. These included the hiring of Associate Principal Mr. Casey Yandek, the implementation of new computers, the purchase of new instruments to be used in the science labs, and even a reform of community service. Mr. Eugene Boyer, principal of St. Edward, hinted on upcoming improvements to the Pre-Engineering program and an upcoming surprise dealing with student leadership.
