The St. Edward Marching Eagles competed two weeks ago at Norton High School’s “Art in Motion” competition and again last weekend at Nordonia High School’s “Festival of Bands” competition, both times aiming to qualify for states. While not yet receiving the overall rating of superior (1) - which qualifies a marching band for states - the band received an overall rating of excellent (2) at both competitions. Even though the band still has a lot of work to do in the remaining week before their next competition at the Amherst “Showcase of Bands,” they did not leave Nordonia empty-handed. The band came in 3rd place in their class (Class A) and won the trophy “Best in Show for Percussion.” With this stunning achievement as further motivation, the band continues to take full steps in the right direction as they devote the next week to mastering their final song, “Carnival”.
